I love dance so much that I used
to dance around the house and
copy what they did in the movies
from the age of about 4 or 5.
I started skating at age 8 and
began ice dancing by age 11.
While at ice dance weekends from
about the age of 18 to 23, there
were lessons being given much
like what I do now and I picked
it up
so fast that I ended up teaching
others
how to dance.
After college, I followed
my dream into an Arthur Murray
Dance Studio. I took a 6
week
course and
began
my teaching career! I
taught at Arthur Murray for 4
years before I began teaching as
an independent
contractor as I still do
today.
I teach Ballroom, Latin, Country
and several different kinds of
Swing. I have been
teaching professionally for
over
12 years. I
have done several country and
ballroom competitions with
students in Pro/AM events. I
hold top teacher awards at the
Heart of America competition in
Kansas City as well as other
NDCA sanctioned ballroom / latin
dance competitions around the
country. My students also
hold top awards in these
competitions in their events!
Beginning August 2007 at the
Heart Of America competition , I will be competing in a
Professional event!
I truly love my work or is it
play? I love teaching
people at the beginning stages
of their dancing all the way to
the top! Be it Social or
Competition or maybe for the up
coming Wedding! I believe
in everyone of my students that
they have what it takes to dance
their way across the floor.
Anyone can learn to dance, even
the ones with two left feet!
I truly believe that I am doing
what I am meant to do and I
believe that I am making a
difference in peoples lives
making it easier for them to
dance and express themselves. Sometimes
life might not be the party we
had hoped for but while we are
here we might as well dance!
The world would be a happier
place if we all did! |
