Rafael Labrado teaches all
styles of dance, but specializes
in International Latin. He is
an excellent teacher, and
recently won "Top Teacher" at
the Heart of America DanceSport
Championships!
Fate first brought Rafael to
Ballroom Dancing. He had moved
from Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua,
Mexico, to the Kansas City area
to train for the Olympics in
Gymnastics. An injury sidelined
him, and he focused his full
attention to dance!
He first began teaching at a
chain studio in 1995. After he
became an independent teacher,
he competed in American Rhythm
for three years, winning a 2nd &
4th Place in Open Pro and a 2nd
Place in Rising Star.
Rafael has since trained with
many Nationally recognized
teachers, including Tommy
Giacchino, Gregory Day,
Jean-Marc Genereux, Karina
Smirnoff, Diana Roberts, John
Swick, Tony Meredith, and
Melanie Lapatin.
Rafael has students nationwide.
He travels around the country to
Ballroom dance competitions, and
really enjoys dancing Pro/Am
events with his students, who
have had great success, winning
Top Bronze Student at the St.
Louis Star Ball, and with 2
students in the Top 20 in the
Dancesport Superbowl!
Rafael can teach International
Latin, American Rhythm, American
Smooth, International Standard,
Salsa, and Country & Western
dancing. He has taught group
classes at several locations,
and currently teaches the
Wednesday night group classes at
Walters Dance Center. If you
want to improve your dancing,
join his group class! |
